⚔️Freedom Friday⚔️ Well after a few days of feeling like I got hit by a truck. I started doing a little s**t around the house. When I say a little I mean a little. I started this pipe yesterday afternoon. The journey of pipe building started for me as a pipe smoker. I’m still a new smoker at very best. As I am with crafting pipes. But I sort of got away from smoking to focus on building. And that was the absolute worse thing I could do. Why? Because pipes teach us one thing. How to slow down and take it all in. Take in our freedom, to choose to do what we wish. As not to get political, when I gave up one thing for the other by choice I gave up the very reason I started the other thing. Find a way to make all that matters in your world a priority. Smoke a pipe when building one. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy both. Incorporate your freedoms to choose what you wish to do.

I would be incredibly negligent, if I didn’t make a post to toady about the most amazing woman I know. This lady on my side, is my everything. My life has become the dream of dreams since I met you. Let’s face it, you have to be special to deal with me and my ways. I know it’s hard to believe but I’m not an easy person. Lol. But less about my issue and more about you! Todays dedicated to MOTHERS! And you my love are the greatest Mom! It shows in the love you have for Amelia. I’ve never seen love at that level. But there you are! Thank you for raising the most amazing little girl! And being my wife. I love you forever!

I’m looking forward to a successful year. With all the craziness that has been our world these past couple years, I’ve missed traveling. I hope to do more and see new and familiar places again. I’m very busy on the business side. Booking into 2024. Life is good!

This is a black and white conversion from Cape Cod this last summer. Finding time to get my photographic juices flowing has been challenging this year. Going from dodging Covid to an extremely busy fall with events, weddings and senior shoots. It’s a blessing I’m not complaining. Not at all. I hope to get back to workshops this year. Perhaps a Maine lighthouse workshop around Portland.

I finally had some time to look through files from last years vacations. This was Gray’s beach on Cape Cod. I’m looking forward to getting back to teaching workshops now that Covid is finally getting under control.

⚔️F**K CANCER⚔️ there’s no words for the thoughts I’m having right now. Three years ago I lived up to a promise I made to my boy Bubba when I held him until his last breath. Three years later I’m facing that once again with his Brother Yoda. The Vet again verified what I already knew, Yoda has a large tumor under his arm. The options are surgery and pray or try to use some Chinese herbal medicines to keep the tumor smaller or shrink it. Inevitably I believe his fate is upon us. I probably will not opt to have the mass removed. Being 13 he’s lived a decent life for a pooch. Not that I don’t think he’s worth the investment. But there’s no guarantee it will stop the cancer from doing what cancer does. So I plan on enjoying what time we have left together. And see if the herbal treatments buys us some months with him. This patch will be worn in both of their honor.

Where the start? 2020-2021 the challenges were very real. Like most photographers out there. 2020 was beyond horrible for our businesss. I literally didn’t touch my camera for almost the entire year. Between being sick, recovery, home schooling and trying find some normalcy anyplace in my world. What that meant. It meant I also found out how much time I wasn’t devoting to my personal life. Mind you, that was a decision I made because photography is my passion. It’s what makes me happy. So going into 2021 I was a little apprehensive about diving back in. I had no work on my agenda, because Covid still loomed and I really didn’t want to schedule things and have them be moved off, honestly I didn’t want to deal with the bulls**t. Then it happened I got busy. All of a sudden I had calls and weddings and senior shoots and everything. It was chaotic, in a way I needed in my world. That brings me to this post. One I’ve needed to make for some time.

First to my friends and followers, mentors, photography friends all over the world. Thank you. Thanks for sticking it out. The ride was rough and we are still out there doing what we do. We keep showing the world through our eyes our visions and most of all through our hearts. To my friends at Sirui USA and ON1 and Mindshiftas always thanks for your support.

To my clientele. God damn! You all rock. Thank you for keeping my business going through this. And for the next couple years as well. I’m truly blessed.

To my incredibly motivated bearded brothers. I do not know what to say. Except y’all kick ass. Thank you.

Finally, to my wife Sonia and daughter Amelia…life is just perfect with you two. My everything. My truest blessings. And of course the Boys Yoda and Simon. I’m blessed beyond words.
