there’s something about love that just… doesn’t sit still

it’s in the quiet moments
but it’s also in the laughter, the movement, the way two people naturally fall into each other without thinking

that’s the part I’m always drawn to

not the perfectly posed version
but the real one, the in between moments, the unplanned ones, the ones that actually feel like you

because those are the photos that last
the ones that take you right back to how it felt, not just how it looked

honestly, that’s why I love what I do
love isn’t something you have to force or stage

it’s already there
I just get to document it as it is

My stepbrother finally wised up and asked this ray of sunshine to marry him! From the moment she walked into our lives, she’s been pure sunshine—bright, joyful, and the kind of soul who makes everyone around her feel lighter.

I couldn’t be happier to officially welcome her to our family (though honestly, it already feels like she’s always been here). Here’s to belly laughs, endless memories, and a lifetime of love + adventure for these two.

I get it — the idea of stepping in front of a camera can feel intimidating.
 You start thinking about angles, outfits, that one thing you wish you could change about yourself… and suddenly it doesn’t sound so fun anymore.

But here’s what I want you to know:
 The best photos aren’t about perfect hair, perfect weight, or even perfect lighting. 
They’re about you two, being yourselves.

I think about one of my couples who swore they were “the most awkward people ever.” He hated taking photos, she was convinced she’d look stiff. But once we got started, it wasn’t about “posing” at all — it was about piggyback rides that turned into uncontrollable laughter, whispered inside jokes, and the way they naturally reached for each other’s hands without even realizing it.

When they got their gallery back, their message to me was:

“Okay but why do we look like ourselves… but like, the dreamier version? Obsessed. Truly never loved photos of us more.”

That’s what I want for you, too. Not stiff smiles or staged moments, but photos that remind you of what it feels like to be wildly in love, right here, right now.

So here’s your permission slip: you don’t have to perform for the camera. You don’t have to look “perfect.” You just have to show up as you are, and I’ll take care of the rest.

Because when you stop worrying about how you look and start focusing on how you feel — that’s where the magic happens.

I’m working on a hypothesis that frolicking on the beach with your honey at sunset will increase your health and happiness. If you would like to be apart of the test group in this ground breaking research, let’s plan a session and meet on the coast! 🌊

As I pulled up to Anna & Tyler’s engagement session the sky was filling with thick rain clouds. When walking into a session knowing rain is inevitable at some point during the session it’s very important to set expectations with your couples. I let them know that we may not have long before the rain comes and they had three options on how to move forward:

1. Reschedule. Not ideal, but not every couple wants messy rainy photos and THATS OKAY. If I know my schedule is open enough that we could find another day make work then I’ll offer it as an option.

2. Start the session now with what time we have before it starts raining, then if the rain holds out and we get through the session, great! But if it starts raining and we end early we can discuss whether we got enough photos or need to schedule another session to finish.

3. Just go with it. When the rain starts we just continue shooting till it gets bad enough we have to call it.

They went with number 3 (my personal fav) and we got started! At first we just had a few drizzle/rain spells till about halfway through the bottom fell out forcing us to end the session early. To think these photos wouldn’t exist if Anna and Tyler chose not to embrace the weather that day. 🌧️

Watching my couples grow into families is one of the greatest joys of this job. I can’t wait to document their twin girls in a couple of weeks.🥹

Side note: Can we just take a moment to talk about how STUNNING Aryn looked during their session?! She was literally glowing ✨

Fun Fact: I took these photos almost 4 years to the day.

Not Fun Fact: The high that day was 71 degrees. The high for where I live today was 39 degrees…

Needless to say I’m missing these cuties and the warm weather 🥶
