On Sunday, I had the honor of documenting my dear friend Nina’s wedding day.

I met Nina through work. She modeled for one of my hospitality shoots and we connected instantly. There is something undeniably special about her: the way she speaks about art and hospitality with so much passion, the way she carries herself with such grace, and the way her entire face lights up whenever she talks about her now-husband, Vincent.

And her family… don’t even get me started. Her mom, who I lovingly call “Mom,” hugged me goodbye at the end of the night, and I told her I loved her.

I’ll admit, I burst into tears after the ceremony. As we transitioned into family portraits, I had this overwhelming realization that I wasn’t simply there as their wedding photographer; I was there as a friend, witnessing and preserving one of the most meaningful days of their lives.

What an incredible honor that is.

I spent my 33rd birthday wrapped in warmth. Golden sunlight pouring through the windows, the distant barks of my poodles, my daughter’s laughter echoing through our new home, and the overwhelming love of family and friends surrounding me.

On my birthday, our two caterpillars became butterflies. It felt like the Universe quietly reminding me that transformation is never rushed. We all take time; time to grow, to soften, to evolve into who we are meant to be. As individuals, as partners, as parents.

This year has changed me in ways both gentle and profound, and for the first time in a long time, I feel deeply grateful, grounded, and whole.

Here’s to new beginnings, new chapters, and all the becoming still ahead.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there. The women who carry so much love, strength, and grace through every season of life. You are the reason we feel safe, supported, and deeply loved. You are the steady hands through life’s hardest moments and the warmth that makes the good moments even brighter.

Thank you for every sacrifice, every embrace, every quiet act of love that so often goes unseen. We are who we are because of you.

And to all of the mothers who have trusted me to document their most precious moments… thank you. Being invited into your lives, your families, and your memories is something I will never take for granted. It is truly one of the greatest honors of my work.

Tomorrow when I wake up, you’ll be three.

Where did the time go? They say the days are long but the years are short—and I finally understand what that means. Every morning, I wake up to a new version of you. Braver, funnier, kinder, more you.

Watching you grow has been the greatest joy of my life… and somehow, the most bittersweet. I wish I could bottle up every version of you, hold onto each little phase just a little longer.

If I could, I would go back to the very first moment I laid eyes on you… just to feel it all over again.

But what a gift it is to watch you become who you are meant to be.
