A LETTER TO MY SON ON GRADUATION DAY.
Dear Luca,
I am filled with immense pride as I reflect on the journey that has brought you to this milestone.
Fifteen years of academic rigor, IEPs, ETRs, and therapeutic interventions have shaped your educational experience. Diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder and fine/gross motor delays at three, followed by an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis at five, your path has been distinct.
Nonetheless, as a child, you were always a beam of sunshine. Unaware that you were any different than your peers.
As you got older, and life became harder, your world was flipped upside down. You had so much doubt in yourself. Still, you never gave up. I’ve always known how strong, smart, and resilient you are.
Luca, you are, without a doubt, a hero in my eyes. Your achievements are a direct reflection of your unyielding spirit. I’ve always said that you are the hardest working person at life.
I am honored to be your parent.
CONGRATULATIONS! YOU DID IT!
Love you always and forever,
Mom ❤️
