Salado, TX is such a fun little town! 🤍

The last time I visited this creek was almost SIX years ago, and I can’t believe it took me this long to come back. I remember thinking, “I have to do a photoshoot here someday,” and then life happened… until now!

Little James was very happy I think —rocks, water, and his favorite toy car in hand. Honestly, that’s what childhood is all about. Those simple moments often become the sweetest memories.

After we wrapped up the session, my own family joined the fun. We splashed in the creek, let the kids play on the nearby playground, and spent some time exploring this charming little town. It turned into such a sweet family day, and we’re already planning another trip back next month!

I hope your day is filled with family, laughter, backyard BBQs, sparklers, and making memories with the people you love most.

As a photographer, I’m reminded every day that the little moments are often the ones we’ll treasure forever—the sticky popsicle smiles, kids running barefoot through the grass, grandparents telling stories on the porch, and everyone gathered together as the sun sets before the fireworks begin.

Take lots of pictures today, but don’t forget to put the camera down every now and then and simply soak it all in. Those moments matter too.

This is my beautiful friend Kara and her sweet mare, Addy. Seeing these two together brought back so many memories.

I still remember going horse shopping with my mom, Kara and her mom all those years ago. Addy’s owner was also selling one of her pasture buddies, and somehow my mom and I ended up bringing that horse home too! I definitely wasn’t complaining about getting another horse. 😉

That was 12 years ago, and it’s amazing how quickly time flies. I’m so thankful for all the memories, trail rides, laughs, and friendships horses have brought into my life. Even today, my mom still has Addy’s old pasture friend. ❤️

Photographing sessions that tell a story like this is one of my favorite parts of what I do. They’re more than just beautiful photos—they’re memories you’ll treasure for years to come.

Horses have always been my faaaaavorite animal.

I’m so thankful my mom shared her love of horses with me growing up because it quickly became one of my greatest loves too.

I was actually pretty nervous around them when I was younger, but the more I worked with horses, learned about them, and owned a few of my own, the more my confidence grew. I even became the person who loved working with the more challenging horses.

Now that I’m a wife and mom, I’m definitely more cautious. Horses are incredible animals, but they deserve so much respect because things can change in an instant.

Even so, there’s nothing quite like the bond you can have with a horse. It’s built on trust, patience, and time, and it’s something I hope to experience again one day. I’d love to own a mustang someday and share that love with my kids as I teach them to ride.

More are coming soon of my beautiful friend Kara and her horse, but for now, I hope you enjoy these.

This adorable couple got engaged at lovers leap this last Saturday!! It was such an honor to be able to witness and capture such a special moment! Seeing the joy and excitement as we took picture after was so fun and special. Congratulations, y’all! ❤️

I brought my camera on a play date, and love the shots I got! I had so much fun getting to take fun photos while kids played and had a good time. Also a good reminder that you don’t have to be “picture perfect” to have a photographer come take photos of you and your kiddos! It can be so relaxed. And if you think there is no way someone can make parts of your house look good for photos, I hope I can prove you wrong! Lifestyle photos are so special. ❤️
