I’m am extremely proud and grateful not only for having my photo featured on the cover of but also for the opportunity to continue to contribute to this amazing publication who is committed to elevating an inclusive community of arts and culture in Des Moines.

Ever since my photojournalist work was featured in Business Record back in 2020, and have continued to drive support and awareness for diverse communities and have provided artists like myself a true platform to uplift other minorities and showcase so many amazing humans in Des Moines! Thank you to everyone at , and a huge shoutout to who really opened a lane for me. This work is truly where I can fill my cup while sharing a vision for so many others. I am forever thankful for these moments. ✨

I often get asked about my favorite thing to photograph. And while, I’m never able to give a crystal clear answer, capturing passion through portraits is usually the baseline of what brings me the most joy throughout the whole photography process. From vision to prep, shooting, connecting, editing and all the way to delivery.

This is Sabah, a recent DMPS graduate who recently completed the program with (who is legendary in my book). I got to really connect with Sabah throughout this session and I was so blown away with her talent (just slide through these images and you’ll see it too!🤓) I’m excited to see her growth as she moves on to the next chapter on her journey. A huge THANK YOU to Jill for allowing me to be a part of the AXA program! 🙏🏾🤲🏽

Andre and I met through my photo project Black Lives of DSM and we did a collab for TEDxDesMoines through our friend Matt. I immediately knew I wanted to work with him again. We shared vision, drive, and so many creative ideas. He was always joyful and humble with his many talents. He never settles. Getting the opportunity to photograph his story of art and activism for dsm Magazine was blissful. We jammed out to some his favorite music, he shared his lyrics and I think we made some magic in these images! ✨
This won’t be my last post of Andre because he’s doing his thing. I’m so grateful for this opportunity and to be able to continue visualizing the stories of the amazing people in our community. Many thanks to Christine at dsmMag for always trusting my vision and providing a platform to do what I love. 💛
