Change is in the air and I’m here for it🌸

Life doesn’t always work out the way we expect, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t working out at all. In 2019, I dislocated my shoulder, and by the time I was cleared for surgery, we were in 2020 and lockdown. It took almost a year to get my surgery, with my arm dead at my side that entire time. I’ve been on either a partial or full hiatus from photography while trying to rehab mobility and dexterity. At times, it’s been heart breaking. At times, I wanted to give up. I may never get back what I had, I may never be able to play music or do eight hour shoots holding a heavy camera in front of me the way I used to. And it would be so easy to give up and stop there.

But life isn’t supposed to be easy. It’s supposed to be a lesson in impermanence, adaptation, and gratitude. Things, circumstances, abilities, and people change... And this is beautiful. People overcome great obstacles all the time. I could bend with the winds of change, or break. I could let life point me and my art in new direction or I could stay stuck. Change happens no matter what, but we can choose how we show up for it.

So, where are these winds of change blowing me? It turns out, I really love making people feel beautiful. I love showing people how I see them. Everyone is a unique work of art, and I love collaborating with people to capture the art that they are.
