With my camera I capture what catches my eye. Without my camera with me I mourn the lost opportunity to record that moment in time.

Happy story

CONGRATULATIONS PETER, EMMETT & GRETA GARBO!

Angels exist and miracles happen!

Around Thanksgiving we were contacted by a Good Samaritan who had been feeding 6 cats for over a year after they had been tossed out on the street by the neighbor, but when one of the cats was found deceased, the Good Samaritan knew it was time to get help for the cats.

We set about trapping them. First came JOSH (who has since been adopted) and AUDREY HEPBURN. AUDREY arrived with an open, infected mammary tumor that was diagnosed as a highly aggressive adenocarcinoma. The vet was able to get clean margins when she removed the tumor, but because of the high possibility that the cancer has already migrated, we've decided that AUDREY will remain with us. At least for the time being.

Next we caught PETER & GRETA GARBO. They were so shy. The following week we caught sweet EMMETT who was even more shy than PETER & GRETA.

The Good Samaritan had already told us that PETER & EMMETT were buddies and always together when they were living outside, so we knew they were a bonded pair and would most likely need to get adopted together.

What we didn't realize is that GRETA is also bonded with PETER & EMMETT. It was clear she & PETER were tight when they came in, but the minute EMMETT arrived they were the 3 Amigos. Always together.

We wondered...is there anyone out there who would adopt these 3 cats together? (We've done it before...)

We knew it was a tough sell coming into kitten season and trying to adopt out three six year old cats; 1 all black, 1 FIV+, and the 3rd a gorgeous Maine C**n female. But still - it's a tough sell.

We had to try! Because we never break up the bonded pairs. Or trios!

So we threw our wish out into the universe and hoped for the best.

And along came Karen & Tony, who have a long history of owning multiple cats and dogs, but currently have just one lab. They were looking for a bonded pair of cats and had submitted an application for ROWAN & RUE, but ROWAN & RUE were already well on their way to being adopted by Jamie.

We suggested that perhaps they'd be interested in PETER & EMMETT. (And maybe GRETA too...???) We inundated them with videos and photos of the cats looking adorable and eating Churu's, and they fell in love!

Karen knew she wanted PETER & EMMETT. She said that Tony would be the decision maker regarding GRETA, because "he's a softy" and he kind of was hoping for a female cat.

They drove down yesterday morning to meet them. They understood that the cats would be shy at first, and they were, but not too shy to eat the Churu's they offered them.

And when it was decision time Karen said she wanted PETER & EMMETT and she asked Tony what he thought about GRETA, and he said..."WE SHOULD TAKE ALL THREE"!!!

So we loaded all 3 cats up and they travelled quietly to their new home. PETER has been renamed THEO, and EMMETT is now called HENRY. GRETA GARBO? She's still GRETA!

We couldn't be happier about this turn of events. We want to thank Karen & Tony (who we adore) for opening their hearts and their home to these very deserving cats who haven't known love for a long time. We can't wait to receive the updates on their progress.

HAVE THE BEST LIFE EVER THEO, HENRY & GRETA! You will never again have to survive outside. You will never go hungry. From now on you will always be loved.

We would also like to send a huge shout out to the Good Samaritan who cared for these cats over the past year, and who loved them enough to find them help. We thank you for everything you did for them.
