Shining Starr's Photography is now offering Patriotic Portrait Sessions for Horses!

Give your horse the spotlight with a patriotic-themed portrait session featuring a 10' × 7' American Flag Photography Backdrop!

Limited-Time August Booking Special

$75 — Standard Session
🕐 A full 1-hour photography session
📸 10 professionally edited, high-resolution digital images of your choice
Use of a 10' × 7' American Flag Photography Backdrop provided by Shining Starr's Photography

$45 — Commercial Image Release Program

Save $30 by participating in the Commercial Image Release Program!

Clients participating in the Commercial Image Release Program receive discounted pricing in exchange for allowing Shining Starr's Photography to display and sell approved images from their session as fine art prints and photographic artwork.

All commercial images require your approval before being offered for sale.

Approved images may also be displayed and offered for sale at PatriotFest Fair in Herriman, Utah, this September.

About the Backdrop & Props

For the best results, your horse should preferably be able to stand semi-still and calmly in front of the 10' × 7' American Flag Photography Backdrop.

Patriotic props are completely optional! If your horse is comfortable standing in front of the backdrop, you're more than welcome to bring additional patriotic props if you'd like to incorporate them into the photos, but you are not required to bring anything.

However, if you feel your horse wouldn't be able to comfortably stand semi-still in front of the backdrop, please have a patriotic-themed prop available for us to use instead so we can still create portraits that fit the theme of the session.

Optional DIY Equine Photography Halter

I will also have a DIY Equine Photography Halter available for optional use during the session.

This is completely optional and should only be used if you feel your horse will remain soft, responsive, and comfortable while keeping everyone safe. We can start the session with your horse's regular halter and, if they seem comfortable and relaxed with the backdrop, equipment, and activity around them, we can switch to the photography halter.

Your horse's comfort, responsiveness, and everyone's safety will always come first. If at any point the photography halter doesn't seem appropriate for your horse, we simply won't use it.

Location & Travel

📍 Based in West Jordan, Utah

I am happy to travel up to 15 miles to meet clients at their preferred location at no additional charge.

Locations 16+ miles away will require a travel fee. The travel fee will be calculated based on mileage and current gas prices and will be discussed and agreed upon before your session is scheduled.

Monday–Friday: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Saturday: 3:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Sunday: 3:00 PM – 8:30 PM

After a much longer wait than anyone — including me — anticipated, I’m excited to finally announce that I have begun working on the Fall Frenzy Show photos from September of last year!

First and foremost, I sincerely apologize for the year-long wait. I truly appreciate everyone who has been incredibly patient while I worked through getting these images ready. I know it has been a long time to wait to see your photos, and I am very grateful for your understanding and patience.

June show photos from Utah Hunter Jumper Show will be finished no later than Tuesday.

First, I want to sincerely apologize for the significant delay. Over the past several weeks, I ran into major issues with my computer and editing software that ended up more than doubling my editing time. While that explains what happened, I know it doesn't make the wait any less frustrating.

The good news is that I've now upgraded to a new computer, and I'm working hard to get caught up so I can deliver these galleries as quickly as possible.

To everyone who has been patient, checked in, or continued to support my photography through all of this—thank you. Your patience has meant more than you know. If you choose to continue supporting my small business despite the delay, I am incredibly grateful, and I'll be doing everything I can to earn that trust.
