New tool...who dis?

I got the GoPro Max and finally got outside and used it. I don't do action sports, but I like gatherings of people.

This is my first edit at the Taste of Soul L.A. I am just playing at this point with figuring out what I can do.

The 360 part of this is amazing. I will probably do some 360 photos, especially in my property management role, but I'm most excited to get better at this kind of thing - 360 video reframed. It was great to come back from an event and get so many angles...from one shot. When I figure out hard cuts vs the moving transitions, it could look like multiple cameras. I also need to get on the computer and edit with their full size editor. I did this on the phone, which is a mind blowing option to have!

It also does really well with audio, which was a nice surprise.

I'm writing an opinion article about a concept that I'm pushing, called Magnetic Membership. I wrote the 999 words and I needed the other 1000 words that comes with a picture.

Logo
I found a free u-shaped magnet piece of clip art. I placed it into an Affinity Photo file. I made a copy of it and put them together like an M. After that I added the text underneath.

I used my Sony Alpha 7ii camera along with the companion Android app to take a self portrait

Final image
Back in Affinity, I placed the portrait as a layer and then placed the logo on another layer. I added some 3D effects to the logo. On the portrait, I darkened and slightly blurred it, to try and create separation as if the logo was floating between my hands.

This += was created on my Samsung using the Bamboo app and my S-Pen.

I can't recommend Affinity enough, to get away from Adobe and their crazy subscription scheme. Affinity is surprisingly affordable. Each piece costs about $50. Those are Photo, Publisher and Designer. So you pay about $150 for the suite...UNLESS you catch a 50% off sale. I bought Photo at full price, but got Designer and Publisher on sale.
