A Doll's Life / Not Your Mom's Barbie I enjoy photographing dolls in everyday and real life scenes. Barbie® lives in a dream world Adults are the ones who have a social issue with Barbie - not kids.

My weird portfolios began in 2012 when I wanted to create something that made people go "Hmmm." The first foray included a life-sized skeleton that I carried around to various locations. Now that I'm older and more fragile, I've scaled down on the props and use 1/6 scale sized dolls. My controversial portfolio in 2012 (as a student -- it created a lot of chatter) was the jumping off point for my o

bsession with doll photography. As an adult I thought the controversy surrounding this doll was interesting, so I decided to create images of adult content using the doll. Yes, I wanted to put Barbie and her ilk into real-life human situations (good or bad), because life isn't a fairy tale. However, there needs to be balance. If you take the bad, you need to have the good. So I photograph my dolls in lots of different scenes/situations, but I make no promises that they're all going to be puppies and rainbows. There will be WTF photos that are reminiscent of the season 7 premier of The Walking Dead. It's just how I roll.

Working on some images for this semester. Waiting until hubby gets home from work so I can get back to photographing pix due tomorrow. Doggy interruption won't allow me any peace in the studio.

Not sure which iteration I like better, but I'm partial to the sepia tinted black and whites.
