World Penguin Day is celebrated each year on April 25th to raise awareness about penguins and their conservation status.

“Power of Community” - “Magellanic penguins are a true testament to the power of community, working together to protect their young and survive in the face of adversity." - Jacques Cousteau

Magellanic penguins exhibit fascinating social behaviors, such as elaborate courtship rituals, communal nesting, and cooperative chick-rearing. They have one of the largest breeding ranges of any penguin species, spanning over 3,000 kilometers along the coasts of South America.

While traveling in Patagonia this past February, I had the privilege of visiting this incredible colony of Magellanic penguins on Isla Magdalena. It was a true delight for the soul!

“Good Airs” - A city of tango and passion, art and culture and food as diverse as the people, Buenos Aires has a soul like no other. It’s name can literally be translated as “good airs”.

I recently had the privilege of traveling to South America on an extraordinary expedition cruising adventure in Patagonia and the Chilean Fjords. Our first stop on the way to the port in Ushuaia was in Buenos Aires. With only one day to explore this wildly charming city, the sliver I saw left a lasting impression and a yearning for more!
