🌈 It took milions of years for nature to create this natural canvas of unimaginable design.
The Painted Desert in northeastern Arizona draws upon the earth's indecisive nature. From shifts in the earth's crust brought about by temperamental volcanoes and earthquakes to complete inundation by fresh and sea waters alike, a veritable host of elements have breathed life into this area.
Colorful sediments of bentonite clay and sandstone stacked in elegant layers feed off the setting of Arizona sun in an ever changing display of colorful splendor 🌈

🌿As you look down into the Blue Mesa basin in Petrified Forest National Park you are instantly transcended back in time.Each colorful stripe (sediment) represents years into the past 🌿
🌿 Sediments of Blue Mesa were deposited by a vast, tropical river system that flowed through this area during Late Triassic Period, around 225 million years ago 🌿

Grand Prismatic Spring is the Largest and one of the Most Brilliant of Yellowstone's Many Colorful Hot Springs. Its Massive Expanse Stretches Approximately 200 Feet (61 Meters) Across. The High Temperature of its Water - 160 F (70 C) Ensures That the Spring is Often Cloaked in Steam.

Deep Beneath Magma From an Active Volcano Heats Water That Rises to the Surface Through Fissures in the Rocks. The Result is a Hot Spring That Pours Almost 500 Gallons of Hot Water Each Minute Into the Firehole River. Minerals Dissolved in a Hot Water are Deposited and Gradually Build the Gracefully Terraced Shoulders of this Amazing Feature.
