It had just snowed in the park above 6000 feet and we thought it would be a good day to bag our first “peak” and hike up to the Mount Brown Fire Lookout- seriously a killer climb with hella elevation gain🥵 Could’ve been a little better prepared than trudging thru the snow in Nikes with my Swiss Army backpack from college, but I was still pretty new to this whole hiking thing😌

Avalanche Lake is definitely the trail I’ve become the most familiar with from my years living and working in Glacier. Seriously such an iconic hike that every visitor wants to do to get a taste of what the park has to offer, and I’m lucky enough to have done it more than 20 times. It’s different every time hiking thru the forest or getting to the lake and staring at the stunning backdrop, noticing the (snowy) peaks or how the waterfalls turn to a trickle come fall.
Classic. All-time. Banger!
