The Ohio Valley Camera Club is celebrating it's 20th anniversary in 2024. We are pleased to announce we will again be presenting a Comprehensive Six-Part Photography Training Series, 15 hours in total. Our first session, “Introduction to and Understanding Photography” - Commencing Sunday afternoon, February 18th, 2:00 – 4:30 PM EST, and will cover training for skill levels from Beginner to Intermediate photographers. Do you have a desire to create impactful, technically correct, story filled photographs? As Ansel Adams said, “You don’t take a photograph, you make a photograph.”
Our class on February 21 will be the first of six classes on an Introduction to and Understanding Photography. The concepts that will be presented over the six sessions will cover the early history of photography, exposure, composition, camera settings for specific images, and an introduction to Lightroom. The class is intended for beginners to intermediate (Sessions Part 5 & 6) level photographers. Even if you have been around photography for years you will learn something new in these sessions.
The six-session series will cover:
1. Introduction to Photography - Early History, It’s All About Light. Really! February 18, 2:00 – 4:30 PM EST
2. Exposure, Part 1 February 25, 2:00 – 4:30 PM EST
3. Exposure, Part 2 March 3, 2:00 – 4:30 PM EST
4. Intro to Composition & Specific Image Setups. March 10, 2:00 – 5:00 PM EST
5. Camera Settings for Specific Images (Part 2) March 17, 2:00-5:00 PM EST
6. Image Storage Workflow March 24 , 2:00 – 3:30 PM EST
Attend any or all of the classes!
Each class will be conducted on-line with each session following one week after the prior session. A pdf copy of the presentation will be emailed after each session to attendees.

Our creator and presenter for this program is Fred Haaser. Fred is my fellow partner in OVCC and Co-Organizer in running the Ohio Valley Camera Club. Fred joined our club in the summer of 2010 and is serious about further developing his skills as an Advanced Amateur Photographer. Recently Fred was invited by the Cincinnati Museum of Art to be their presenter for their 2019 “Burning Man Exhibit”, has presented both his photography and presentation skills to our club and other clubs in the region. He is well on his way to achieving his goal of photographing all 63 of our National Parks.
