Last Friday night I made the trip to Oxford to catch their Hornets host the Henderson Warriors. In a game that came down the wire, the Hornets topped the Warriors, 22-20.

The victory was spearheaded by QB Dustin Long who not only scored two rushing touchdowns, but secured the game sealing INT on defense late in the fourth quarter.

Hornets C.B. CJ Boyer also had a big-time stop on fourth down in the second half, though it was Corey DiAntonio who broke multiple tackles securing a two-point conversion that would prove to be the difference.

Special thanks to Athletic Director Mike Price, and Oxford Head Football Coach Michael Means for the warm welcome! There was a palpable sense of community Friday night, and it was a pleasure to cover the game.

Over the weekend, I stopped by Henderson Warriors Football to catch the warriors take on the Great Valley Football Patriots, and captured the game!

It was a typical game for the Patriots, balanced offensively and aggressive on defense, who took down the Warriors, 28-6. Great Valley Football likes to win in the trenches, and Friday night was no exception, allowing Senior RB Jack Coffey to record three rushing TDs. Great Valley put on a blocking clinic with Gavin Greco, Lawron Short, and Raheem Orr leading the way up front.

Henderson kept things close for most the of the game, largely from the efforts of Evan Kearney who was all over the field. Kearney had a long kick return on special teams, recorded a few long receptions on offense, and intercepted a pass from GV QB Braeden Melia in the end zone. Henderson RB Brady Collins would score to get the Warriors on the board, but in the end the Patriots took over to claim their sixth win of the season.
