One year. Countless sessions. So many amazing people. ♥

If you’re new here, I’d love to introduce myself and share a little about what I do and why I love it so much!

My name is Josie Myers, I am 22 years old, and I loveeee taking me some photos.
I was born and raised in the Jackson, MS area, and I still reside here! My parents bought me my very own camera when I was 13, and I used it to take pictures of EVERYTHING.
But once life got busy, I only pulled my camera out for big life moments when people asked me to take pictures. Eventually, that poor camera never saw the light of day… until a friend asked me to take her maternity photos.
I relearned my camera settings (yes, it had been THAT long), and I fell in love with photography all over again.
I had considered photography as a career before, but this time was different. It felt like an itch I couldn’t ignore, even though I had always been too scared to take the leap.
I prayed many, many nights for God to lead me in the right direction, and then it hit me all at once what He had been trying to tell me all along (we’ve all been there).
So I filed for my LLC… and then naturally freaked out a little afterward 😅
Now, one year later, I’m so, so thankful that I trusted God. I’ve learned so much, met so many wonderful people, and I am SO excited for what this next year has in store for this business.

Been thinking about this a lot lately
don’t just post your work, post you working..

The final photos will always matter, but there’s something different about showing the process behind it. The random moments, the movement, the setting, how a shot actually comes together.. that’s the part people don’t usually see.

Behind the scenes stuff just feels more real. It shows more of who you are and what it’s actually like being behind the camera, not just the end result.

Definitely wanna start capturing more of this !!

A sparkly dress + the sun will always always alwaysss hit

My cousin Kaitlyn (Kk) was so gorgeous that my tears ruined my makeup when she walked down the aisle. A particularly humbling moment for my makeup skills, but also my ability to keep my crap together.

Yesterday I had the incredible opportunity to attend a content retreat with some really cool people, right over in Church Hill, MS! I’ve never attended one and did not know exactly what to expect, but now I’m itching to go to as many as possible. I learned so much and was able to observe other photographers work their magic as well, which has only motivated me more to push myself and create more. Thank you for having me! What an awesome experience! ♡
