On the Go Photography

On the Go Photography Welcome to Roamin' Gnome Photography! Capturing memories, from the ordinary, to the extraordinary... For as long as I can remember, I've been taking photographs.

Over the years, friends have suggested I publish/sell my photography. Consistently, I've said, "Well, maybe.... someday....". Someday is here! These photographs are taken "ON THE GO": wandering in and out of brush; climbing riverbanks; walking the coastline; other days wandering around towns. Some are even taken from the comforts of my car! The first few times I pulled over to the roadside to take

photographs, my son was astounded. Now, it's just what happens! Please contact me for pricing/sizing information...

Thanks for stopping by ~ enjoy! Candace M. Daniels

The Fab Foursome!

Y'all, I can't even ~ the absolute cuteness! They didn't stray far from the den. We saw a parent (more on that later) walk by and headed out to see if we could see them, and maybe a glimpse of the kits.

Imagine my excitement to not only see mom or dad, but 4 kits! At one point we thought we counted 5. We were situated about 100' away but mom/dad weren't too concerned as they let the kits nosy around the den opening while we were out there. There's more photos coming, but this one, wow just totally melted my heart!

Foxes typically have one litter of pups per year. Red foxes generally produce 4 to 9 pups per litter, and gray foxes usually have 3 to 7 pups. This is the second year at this den. I didn't get to see the kits in person last year, but did see photos. There were 3 kits, but only 2 survived.

I can't wait to see them again!

Winter Solstice Sunrise on Long Sands...

This morning, no plan, no goal, no rushing, just a re-set....

And it was this morning I realized my first Maine coastal trip was over 40 years ago. It wasn't the best trip - stayed in Old Orchard Beach, I had an ungodly toothache the entire weekend, and oddly I haven't been back to visit OOB. Huh, lol! The next year's trip was to Ogunquit, stayed at the Norseman... it was beautiful, but busier than I liked...

Then someone said "have you ever stopped at York? It's a bit quieter..."... And since then, when I land on the Maine coast, home base is York... Just a walk across the parking lot, cross the road, and I can walk the coastline anytime... 7am? Midnight? Yes please... and a 15 min walk to one of my favorite restaurants...

And although I do have one other favorite beach to watch sunrise from... starting this day, this year, off on Long Sands was just what I needed...

Yesterday morning, on my walk on the Marginal Way, Poppa Cardinal dive-bombed me a few times and kept me company the entire walk but would not sit for photos. Momma, on the other hand, was hiding in the shadows and made an appearance for a photo shoot.

Every third or fourth trip to Rachel Carson's Wildlife Preserve, I walk the trail in reverse direction. This morning I did just that. I stopped and chatted with a few trail-walkers, then pulled out the cellphone to see what birds were on the Merlin App. So glad I did! All of a sudden I heard this noise, a slight but caretul treading of fallen leaves. And this beauty appeared. She slowly wandered to the trails edge and walked about 10' with me, well, about 15' in front of me. She sauntered back into the woods, so as I chatted quietly at her, she allowed a few more photos... Still in awe with our visit.
