I also don't say this to put myself out of a job...

The reason I say you don't need a wedding or elopement photographer is because I so firmly believe you should make the decisions that are right for YOU and YOUR wedding.

If that means photography isn't a priority, then so be it! If you only want disposable camera images (and the gamble those pose) or if you only want iphone photos and videos to take you back to the moment, or you want to see the day through your uncle's eyes... Then I want that for you! If you don't have the budget to hire a quality photographer and would rather all your people exist in and enjoy the moment... then I want that for you!

The wedding industry has force fed folks planning weddings a lot of ideas about what a wedding is "supposed" to look like or be. But as part of my non-traditional ethos of wedding, elopement, and portrait photography, I am committed to pushing back against norms. I recognize that my work is part of this peddled narrative about what a wedding is supposed to be, so I want it to be clear that my services are never a necessity. Honestly none of the things the wedding industrial complex tells you are necessities are inherently needed... But lacking various vendors or pieces of a wedding or elopement may affect the way the day flows, feels, is remembered, etc.

All that said...

You don't need to get married any specific way!!!!
You deserve to make informed decisions!!!

(Also I want to be transparent that I used a filter in this video! I was feeling self conscious about how tired I looked so I used a filter. My skin and most skin does not look like this.)
