Photography of the Day: Peaceful scenes from a departing storm near Altus, OK in April of this year. Petrichor filled the air. An eerie yet peaceful calm before the storm. A sustained rolling thunder. The occasional car passing on a nearby road.

Today's throwback features our very own Baldy-in-Chief on his birthday chase with JennyBrownPhotography back on May 30, 2012. This infamous dust sucking supercell left a trail of quarter to grapefruit sized hail from near Childress down to Haskell, TX that afternoon and evening. David's original storm chasing vehicle affectionately known as "Lil Red" is featured in the 2nd photo taken near Munday, TX.
