Taking a trip to the town where Northern Exposure was filmed has been something on my list for a while. So when I saw my flights home had a 24 hour layover in Seattle I decided to rent a truck and make the drive out to Rosalyn Washington. The drive itself was beautiful, through snowcapped mountains and national forests, along massive lakes and rivers. Rosalyn still looks like it did in 1990, and was definitely a fitting stand in for Alaska. Everyone was nice and I talked to a few people who live there, they were all happy to tell me about the area. I ate lunch at The Brick and walked around town, bought some Northern Exposure souvenirs, and took some photos. It was a great way to end my trip. Also, it’s not the only show that has been filmed here. Some of Twin Peaks and The Man in the High Castle were shot here as well.
