Today I finished mounting 16x20 composites on black styrene - my favorite substrate because it doesn't warp. Photos are laminated with a canvas texture so once they are framed glass will not be required. At the same time I'm working on a cabinet for my shop. I have this backing board that I painted black so I wouldn't have to paint once the cabinet is assembled. I got thinking that what an awesome way to display these photos once framed is up on a black display such as this. Definitely going to put the bug in my clients ear - for me to create these - they would look so awesome. Its wonderful how two different things collide into a solution. To finish my idea off I would frame it in cherry.

Today I printed three images on ceramic tile of my barn photography. The top image is printed on an 8x12 ceramic tile suitable for full frame images where you don't want nothing cropped off - as when you would with an 8x10 format. The bottom two images are 8x10 ceramic tile - where I had the room for cropping on these images. They can be displayed flat on a surface, there are rubber pads on each corner. They can also be hung on a wall, a wire hanger is attached. So the reason I printed these is I am presenting them to a gallery. The lady in charge liked the barn photography and is intrigued with the tile. So wish me luck:) First saw photography printed on tile in a Cape Cod gallery - it had quite the impression on me. To this day I have not seen anything of the sort around upstate NY.

5x7 extremely high quality note cards. My goal by next year is to have a large variety of these image wise along with different paper selections. They are packaged and include an envelope. Images will include my Flower Photography, Barn Photography, Adirondack Photography, Night Time Light Painting Photography and what I call "Along The Roadside Collection." Going to be adding about five per week to the overall collection with a goal of doing some art shows next summer / fall.

This is the next paper on my list to experiment with. This is a very expensive paper - it a cotton rag paper. This paper is suppose to resemble the results of our dark room days when we printed on a fiber based paper, looking forward to my first test.
I'll be testing a new paper brand/type at least once every month. After I make some prints on this Moab paper - my eyes are on Iford galley gold tone paper.

This image printed on Red River Polar Gloss Metallic Paper. Here is a paper that I won't cover with an overlaminate - it will be displayed as is - to retain the metallic look.

Some information about this image - this 911 American flag is displayed.in the middle of Adirondack Lake. Nice night on the lake kayaking - probably one of my most awesome 30 minutes of image capture. Photographing 4 or 5 totally awesome and different images.

This summer into the fall I'll be experimenting with some different types of paper. Black and White printing is my focus next - Red River has some awesome paper in that category - but there is so much out there. Any suggestions please!

What an awesome combination - these images printed on Red River Pecos Glossy for an awesome color rendition and superior sharpness. Then the finishing touches are applied with a canvas overlaminate. Today I printed six of my images for the State Fair. The printing process took me a good part of the day - so I had a definite four images but wasn't sure about the last two. So I actually printed 10 different images so when I laid the finished prints out on the table my decision for the last two came a lot easier. I've printed my own images since before my twenties - over 45 years:) Everytime it is a learning process, a process that you do not receive from the digital delivery system. I urge all young photographers to learn the printing process- it will be very beneficial to your growth as a professional. Tomorrow I'll mount the photos - the only.thing I hate the fact they have to be mounted on foam core (state Fair rules) the absolute worst thing to mount a print on. More printing tomorrow but back doing it for my clients!

I printed this bw image today. This is on Adirondak lake - they have the perfect setting to watch the sun go down. Who ever built this swing is a genius - I mean obviously they replicated the design to match the nature around them.
