And many of you just lost a little credibility. Ha! π€£
Anthropic has announced that future Claude models will include an invisible watermark designed to help identify AI generated text.
You will not see it. Your customers will not see it. But detection technology may be able to recognize that AI was involved in creating the content.
π€For marketers, this could become a very big deal.
And not just on social media. It could matter for SEO too.
π€Google does NOT currently penalize content simply because AI helped create it. What Google continues to emphasize is originality, usefulness, expertise, experience and content actually created for people.
π€But Google also specifically warns against producing large amounts of AI generated content that adds little or no original value. And this is exactly why real research still matters more.Looking at your actual Google Analytics data, understanding what people are searching for, paying attention to social listening, reading comments, tracking customer behavior and learning what your audience is actually responding to will always give you something AI alone cannot: real context. That is very important.ππ³οΈπͺοΈ
If AI generated content becomes easier to identify, search platforms could potentially become even better at separating genuinely useful AI assisted content from mass produced content created primarily to rank.
That means publishing 50 generic blogs because AI can produce them quickly may become an even worse SEO strategy.
πYour own experience matters.
πOriginal photos matter.
πReal examples matter.
πFirsthand knowledge matters.
Your opinions, expertise, case studies, research and actual understanding of your industry matter.
And here is the bigger problem for brands.

Some people recognize it immediately.
The same sentence structures. The same overly polished tone. The same predictable phrases. The same words appearing everywhere. Content that technically sounds good but somehow sounds like nobody.
πAI is an incredible tool. I use it. Most marketers use it. But there is a huge difference between using AI to help you create and allowing AI to become the voice of your business. As search engines get better at evaluating originality and AI generated content becomes easier to identify, your actual knowledge and human voice may become some of your strongest marketing assets.
πUse AI as a tool.
πDo not hand it your identity or your entire SEO strategy.
And one more thing worth remembering: ChatGPT is not always right. It is a language model, not an authority. The way you ask a question can influence the answer you receive, and asking the same thing differently can sometimes produce a different response.Use AI to research, brainstorm and assist you, but do not automatically assume every answer it gives you is a fact. Important information should still be verified.ππ
