When The New York Times comes calling, you know the City of Saint Robert, Missouri with their Route 66 Neon Park is doing something right. I am honored to photograph NYT journalist Ken Belson and photographer Netta Satam as they captured the story of this incredible restoration project — and even more honored to meet with those visitors they interviewed from China, the Dominican Republic, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and right here in Missouri who came to see the living history of these glowing neon signs.
The folks from the City of St. Robert, Pulaski County USA, Tourism Bureau, and Missouri's Route 66 Centennial Commission were given the opportunity to share their perspectives on the park.
Meeting all of these people is a part of what the Centennial is all about. 📸✨

What a night! My first “Through My Lens” talk at the Sullivan Branch turned into a 90-minute journey down Route 66 — and I loved every minute of it. Huge thanks to Tiffany at Scenic Regional Library for inviting me to bring this program to life, and to everyone who came out to listen, ask questions, and share the love of the Mother Road with me.
