Currently asking the universe for a smooth May.

Between the final month of the school year with students, quite a few spring weddings, & family goings-on, I am moving nonstop & keeping positive.

Cheers to all those crossing my path this month while I capture your love stories.

I don’t post a ton of family photos, but I when I am able to squeeze them in between weddings & engagement shoots during more open times in my calendar, I’ll still work them in.

My family shoots always have guided direction without making it feel too “awkward family photo” vibes. I love a good variety & always try to give back a gallery full of different types of shots.

Being a 5th grade teacher also helps when it comes to keeping the attention of the kiddos. I can crack a dad joke when needed & I’m really good at imitating fart sounds.

I’ve never let a rainy day bring me down & I will be one of the most positive people on your wedding day even if mother nature decides on getting us all a little wet.

In fact, a cloudy day is my preference when behind the camera (& even on my days off). I’ve always been a moody gal & therefore a moody wedding never does hurt my feelings.

Officially caught up on all editing and celebrating a little time off from staring at the computer screen each night.

Most folks don’t think about the time spent in front of a computer when it comes to photography, but it’s a good 85% of the job. At least for me, who is just so darn detailed when it comes to editing.

My usual day is spent teaching, coming home for a quick rest to reset from my first job, and then settling in with a heating pad, a fancy beverage, and a blanket at my computer where I spend another six to eight hours editing a night.

I listen to podcasts, have documentaries on in the background, or play mindless reality tv while working. I’ve never hated this part of the job, but it can get a bit tiresome on the eyes, so having about a month break until things start back up feels lovely.

If you have any good recommendations for podcasts, audiobooks, or solid documentaries - I’d love to hear them for when things start back!
