While taking part in our local Christmas parade, I was touched by a few images surrounding us at the fire station.
The thought occured to me that when we dial 911 for help, we automatically assume and rely on the fact that they will immediately be there to assist us. It is so easy for us, in our hectic, chaotic moments, to forget what it entails for them to be there.
-Ours have volunteered. When the tones go off, they might be asleep, eating supper, attending an event....or so on. They drop whatever it may be, and race to our sides. BECAUSE THEY WANT TO.
-They have family and loved ones whom are at home, praying for their safe return, as well as the safety of those whom the call was made for.
In a very silent room, the emotions were deafening.
I was able to capture a few pictures, that spoke volumes to me, and show as a reminder of their bravery and loving souls.
I hope they speak to you as well.
