Announcement!
Pausing my photo business!

With joy, I am pausing my photo business. 💕

In January, I switched day jobs which has given me the time with my family my heart desired. We got through the quarantine and this summer discovered I actually love spending oodles of time with my kids 🤣

To continue spending as much time with them as I can, I am shifting gears in life and have decided to pause my photo business. I will likely be back someday and am not putting my camera down, but for now I will be focusing on my family. 💚

Thank you to every single family who invited me into your home to photograph you! I have a special place in my heart for all of you.💙

To the mamas, dads and families who allowed me to be present at the birth of your child (or shortly after), you have no idea how honored I am to have been there! I cherish every single one of our experiences together and thank you for letting me be a part of your birth story! 💜

I’ll continue posting photos of my family and throwbacks to past sessions on Instagram- where I hang out most of the time 😊

Being the Gemini I am, I can’t sit still for long, so have already jumped headfirst into a few new endeavors- which both allow me to stay home with the kids while I work on them. But, I’ll save that for another time. ✨🤍💫

Happy 21st birthday to my brother in law, Kerwin!! Kerwin, you are truly one of my favorite people in the world - my swimming & adventure buddy, someone I can talk to about anything, and the best uncle ever. I’m so proud of you and am soooooo eternally thankful to God that we get to celebrate you today!!!! You are loved by many... but mostly by TJ 🤣🤣🤣 Kerwin Hackett 💙💙💙

I love photographing births attended by midwives.... for many reasons, one being the sweet sling their babies get weighed in! Being weighed in these cozy slings seems to be a much more pleasant experience for baby (who just came out of their cozy home) than being put on a hard, chilly scale. Have you ever watched a baby be weighed in a sling like this? 😊

I took this photo last summer. It totally sums up what life on the playground was like for my son last year! He was so timid, would barely go up and down steps, and forget the slide! .. I was starting to worry he’d be a ‘watch from the sidelines’ kinda kid. Its really hard for me not to baby him when he acts timid. I try my best to give him a good mix of guidance and a little nudge to try new and scary things. ..
Fast forward to this summer and he’s a whole new confident kid! Swinging high, going down the slide and climbing up rock walls. Yay! Watching my kids grow is the most amazing yet sad thing. It’s going way to fast, but I’m so proud of them.....and I’m learning to let them learn on their own (which is much easier for me with my second baby!) 🙂

Think back to 7th/8th grade… who was your best friend? The one who helped you get through those semi-(or extremely)- awkward years, who made you laugh till you cry, who knew your favorite things, who dressed up in all black with you on the anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s death (oh, was that just us??) ….. For me--- that was Beth! She holds an extra special place in my heart and even when we don’t see each other for years, we can still talk like those best friends who loved Reggie Miller, Days of our Lives and {the best} alternative music.

I loved getting to photograph her and her family this past December (eek-- just a few months behind with the posting over here)!

It was a great time getting to see Beth as a mom. Her kids are sweet, smart, so so kind and adorable buddies!

Happy birthday to our fur-baby, Blue! He was born 3 years ago (yesterday)! He is like velcro, never leaving our sides. He has to be in the middle of any action going on. He is soooo good with the kids-never being bothered with their choice of going over him instead of around him! We love this pup!! Kari Gierach
