THE most challenging meteor shower photo project I've done. Between the clouds and hazy skies, I almost gave up. The perseids meteor shower peaked last week Wednesday night, August 12th and it was cloud cover mixed with haze. I had been trying to go out the few nights before then too. Only to pack up quick due to weather. FINALLY I caught a break Thursday night into Friday. The clouds broke up and the skies became crystal clear. I pulled an all nighter and stayed up till sunrise. Even though the peak was over, there were still plenty of meteors. The milky way was absolutely gorgeous as well. So here is my blended shot of the Perseid meteor shower. So happy it worked out.

Being kind of a weather nut, I've always wanted to photograph a tornado since buying my camera. Well it finally happened yesterday. I got my first tornado. While out chasing, I was getting ready to head home until I heard "tornado warning" in Stratford, WI. I turned around and headed towards that direction. As I turned a corner while going through Mosinee, the tornado was the first thing I saw. Way off in the distance. I pulled over and just kept snapping pics and it left me with this result. I then headed closer to the storm and parked in a safe spot to watch it pass. A few more funnels formed but no other tornado came of it. This photo was taken from Mosinee looking toward Stratford using my zoom lens that I use for wildlife. A photographer dream come true.

Took a late night trip Friday night into Saturday as there was a decent sized storm west of Marathon county. Found a nice random road off the highway with an open field. Set up the tripod to continuously shoot and got some more nice lightning photos. Blended the lightning shots I got to give it that apocalyptic feel.
