This session was so much more than a business transaction, it was a reunion with a good friend I hadn’t seen in over a year. I first met Courtney in a class we had together in college, traveling all over the west visiting national parks and monuments. We backpacked overnight in the Montana mountains together, played volleyball in the Badlands, and ate cold sandwiches on numerous hikes. On our way back to Ames, she said she wanted me to take her grad photos and, over a year later, I was able to fulfill my promise that I would. It was the first time I’d seen her since we returned back to campus in our 15 passenger van. It was SO amazing to see her again and I will forever be grateful to our class we shared for bringing her light into my life. ♡
