More from this beautiful day with this incredible couple. From the quiet moments to the laughter, it was an honor to capture the warmth, connection, and love that defined it all 💛

Michelle knew I had only photographed one wedding before, a courthouse ceremony, but her trust in me gave me the space to dream alongside her. During our initial consultation, I suggested a “first look,” and she immediately loved the idea. With a little last-minute magic (and some very polite asking), we were able to arrive at the location 45 minutes before guests began to arrive.

I had the honor of driving Michelle to the restaurant myself, keeping the surprise fully intact. My goal was to quietly capture each expression as it unfolded, while preserving the warmth, intimacy, and classic charm of the restaurant’s softly lit, inviting space.

These are some of my favorite images from this magical day 🤍💛

The end of 2025 through the beginning of 2026 was a little quiet on KKP socials, not because I don’t love this space (and my incredible clients), but because I had a handful of design projects that required most of my focus.

My time is freeing up, and I'm pumped about some upcoming 50 & FREE sessions, but also I wanted to share one project that is close to my heart: a beautiful collaboration with the founder of Voice of Maasai, Jessey Jansen… who also happens to be my sister ✨

I'm honored to have been chosen to design her newly released memoir, Fair Street. This work has easily become one of my favorite projects. I’m so proud of her and the way she has captured her 10+ year journey with VOM.

We worked so fluidly together from start to finish, and are both thrilled with the results! Jessey Jane Voice of Maasai

✨ Sneak peek ✨

I had the absolute honor of photographing Michelle and Josh’s intimate wedding at Mr. B's in Brookfield, WI this past Saturday. This was only my second wedding ever (first was a sweet courthouse ceremony!), and my stunning bride trusted me to capture their beautiful day.

The day was cozy, warm, and full of love. It was such a joy to witness and photograph this chapter in their lives, I can’t wait to share more! 💛

A little late sharing my annual reflection post… but the last few months of 2025 were full in every sense of the word. Thanks for your patience while I caught my breath 🤍

This past year brought an incredible mix of high school seniors, personal branding, maternity, creative, and family sessions to my studio. Every person who stepped in front of my lens made the year feel rich, meaningful, and deeply fulfilling.

Behind the scenes, 2025 also held its share of ups and downs. In April, my husband was laid off from his government contract work, which created real financial strain for our family. We leaned hard on flexibility, belief, and creativity. I was grateful to have strong design work alongside my photography, and he picked up freelance projects to help bridge the gaps. Toward the end of the year, he was offered an exciting new opportunity, and we’re stepping into that chapter with cautious optimism. I’ve been lucky to provide creative support for that venture as well, which is part of the reason this reflection is arriving a bit behind schedule.

There were definitely some beautiful highs worth celebrating:

• Launching High School Senior Group Sessions—a way to celebrate the bonds seniors have built and create unforgettable memories together. (The groups I was lucky to work with were simply incredible!)

• Announcing the 50 & Free Series (coming in 2026)—a photoshoot experience for women approaching 50 or 50+, showing up exactly as you are, doing something you love. (Can't wait to get this rolling!)

• Winning a Silver Award in the Icon International Photography Awards for “Kian’s Homework Machine”—an honor that means so much to me and continues to fuel my creative energy.

• Collaborating and providing layout and design for my sister’s upcoming memoir, set for release in 2026. (So excited for this to be out in the world!)

If 2025 taught me anything, it’s that creativity doesn’t disappear in hard seasons, it carries you through them. Thank you to every client, collaborator, and supporter who trusted me with their stories this year. I’m stepping into 2026 incredibly grateful and quietly excited for what’s ahead.

No better way to close out 2025 than with a cherished family photoshoot. We love spending Christmas in the Northwoods at my sister’s beautiful home, and this year (last year😜) I decided to bring my "good" camera. ✨

Wishing everyone a magical 2026 ✨

My good friend Carey Watters (who I haven’t seen in far too long) is an educator, artist, designer, and true travel extraordinaire. She has spent many years studying art and architecture throughout Italy, and I just learned she’s now offering women an incredible opportunity to join her for a retreat + workshop in an old Greek village!

🤎 L I L L I A N 🤎

With Lillian’s love of books and gentle energy, a soft, cinematic approach was the perfect vibe for her session. We began in downtown Cedarburg, with textured streets, warm tones, and a touch of “fire” at Rivoli Theatre, then wrapped up the evening at Lime Kiln Park with soft, golden-hour light.

Throughout the session, we definitely battled the wind, but you’d never know from the results, Lillian’s patience was perfection! She was an absolute joy to work with, always smiling as we moved through each scene, bringing her dreamy, storybook session to life.
