This session was one of my favs with one of my favorite families.

Pablo is such a natural on the soccer field, and his go-with-the-flow personality was perfect for our evening together. We started at the Mukwonago High School fields, wandered the trails at Scuppernong, and ended the night at Ottawa Lake.

I’ve known this family for more than a decade, and they’re part of what we call our FAB5.

Watching Pablo grow and capturing his incredible personality brings me ridiculous joy.

So grateful for this family, these memories, and all the years of friendship, both the ones behind us and all those still to come.

S U S A N

I’ve known Susan since I was a kid. She was one of my older sister’s best friends in high school, so getting to photograph her at this stage of her life felt pretty special. ❤️

She told me she wanted to book a 50 & FREE session because she wanted to push herself, celebrate herself, and do something just for her.

Ten years ago, she started running while coaching cross country. Since then, her journey has included more setbacks than she ever imagined—a torn meniscus, broken ribs, a sprained ankle…just to name a few.

But two years ago, her middle daughter asked her to help train for a half marathon.

She said yes.

On August 29, she’ll run her first half marathon. 🏃‍♀️ 🙌

Her youngest of three daughters also graduated high school this past summer, closing a chapter where being “Mom” was at the center of her universe.

She told me, “Giving to others has always brought me joy.”

Now she’s learning what it feels like to make a little room for herself.

And because she loves the water, we spent half of her session at Nagawicka Lake, while the other half took us to the Ice Age Trail, two places that felt perfectly her.

The idea of a session all about her was outside her comfort zone, but she called it empowering.

“Something for me.”

And honestly? I can’t think of a better reason to celebrate.

Preview into Pablo's senior session! ⚽🖤

I've known this guy since he was in kindergarten, and I don't think he's left the soccer field since.

Even though it was hot out on those fields, Pablo was definitely in his comfort zone! We had so much fun capturing him in his element ⚽

I was a sweaty mess all day long, but I had THE CUTEST assistant ever 🖤 My little protégé 🖤 Hoping he will join in many session to come.

And, I got to photograph one of my favorite seniors in the world! His mama was a gem and assisted with lighting throughout the entire second half of the session, thank you my dear 🖤 And Pablo Sr. was his usual happy self assisting when needed and always with a smile!

From the late afternoon shores of Lake Michigan and the wooded trails of Grant Park to Charlie’s home base at Waukesha West, his relaxed confidence and easygoing personality made this session a true joy to capture.

I’ve known this wonderful family for years, so photographing Charlie was especially meaningful. I was also lucky enough to photograph his brother two years ago, making this milestone even more special.

A little preview of one of my favorite senior guys I had the pleasure of photographing this past Monday! Charlie brought such an easygoing confidence to his session, and paired with one of my favorite locations along Lake Michigan, it made for a pretty incredible evening before we wrapped up at West's baseball field.
