Drove by the other day and realized that pinwheel sign on the building is probably vintage. Did a little digging and found service stations here going back to the thirties. The present structure was built as a Shell station in 1965.

This vintage G.E. sign survives in Glen Ellyn. Found it exploring the street view, which hadn’t been updated in a few years. The business was closed so I didn’t know what I would find when I got there. Last month I stopped on my way to a concert. I found a crowded upscale downtown and the sign still standing and lit.

Downtown Aurora is a fun place to explore. I’ve stopped a couple times on my way back from Joliet. There’s a lot to see, so many architecture styles.

These Racine Cement Walk medallions are scattered throughout the south side and and into West Racine, but I haven’t found any on the north side yet. This one is on Deane.
