Halloween is tomorrow, but Ellie already has us under her spell. 🖤🕯️

The black lace, that corset, the flowing skirt, those gloves… she came ready to haunt the forest and look damn good doing it. 😏🔥 Add in the candlelight, towering redwoods, and old stone steps, and we had ourselves a little dark romance moment.

We brought this vision to life at Mt. Madonna’s Henry Miller Site Trailhead. Rumor has it this location is haunted… but honestly, if you saw Ellie sitting among the candles, I think we know who was turning heads in those woods. Ghosts included. 👻😂

I seriously LOVE sessions like this. When someone comes to me with an idea that’s a little different and says, “I just want to have fun with it,” my creative brain gets SO excited. Give me the mood board, the dramatic outfit, the spooky little details. Let’s play and create something that feels like you.

An angel, her golden retriever fiancé, and a little golden-hour magic. 🥹🤍🐕✨

Okay, technically they’re MARRIED now, but your photographer is just a little behind on posting. OOPS! 😂🤫

Y’ALL!! Melanie + Josh were an absolute DREAM to photograph! Melanie was giving effortless elegance in that gorgeous, flowy floral dress, while Josh was giving us the ultimate golden retriever energy. Just happy to be there, completely obsessed with his girl, and ready for whatever adventure came next. 😂🤍

And can we talk about their OUTFITS?! 😍 The soft florals, crisp white button-up, and earthy green pants were a match made in heaven! Perfectly coordinated without being too matchy-matchy. 🤌🏼✨

From wandering through the trees to chasing golden-hour light across the dunes and playing along the shoreline, this session was filled with laughter, romance, and so many sweet little moments. I genuinely had SO MUCH FUN photographing these two!

And THIS is what couples sessions should feel like! 🤍

A year ago, Sharmaine + Thuan were celebrating the promise of forever in the gardens of Filoli. Today, they get to say “I do.” 🤍

Her flowing white dress, his crisp white shirt and black trousers, and all that beautiful greenery—a simple, elegant pairing for an afternoon together. Beside the lily pond, surrounded by garden paths and tucked-away corners, they paused to hold each other close and celebrate the life they were building.

Looking back at these photos today makes those moments feel even sweeter. A whole year of anticipation has brought them here, to the day they’ll stand beside each other and become husband and wife.

Happy wedding day, Sharmaine + Thuan. I’m so excited to be there to capture it. 🤍

Miriam + Aaron, everyone! 🥹🥀🖤

Dramatic coastal cliffs, crashing waves, red roses, a little ch*****ne, and two people completely in love. Honestly, what more could a photographer ask for? 🖤

And can we take a moment for their outfits?! Miriam’s flowing white dress paired with Aaron’s soft neutral tones was absolute perfection against the rugged coastline of Shark Fin Cove. 🤌🏼✨

What makes this session even sweeter is that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing these two before, and now I get to capture another beautiful chapter of their love story.

There’s something about Montalvo that always makes me feel like I’m photographing a scene from a movie, and Salma + Michea understood the assignment. 🤍🎞️

These two were the winners of my Summer Love Giveaway, and I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a sweeter couple to get in front of my camera.

Before their session, Salma mentioned that it had been a while since they had taken photos together and that they hadn’t been feeling the most confident in front of the camera lately. So naturally, my response was basically: say less, I got you. 😂📸

And then they showed up looking like THIS 🤍🔥

We spent the evening wandering around Montalvo, laughing, dancing, dipping, getting romantic, and letting the architecture do what it does best. Somewhere along the way, it stopped feeling like a photoshoot and started feeling like I was just following these two around with a camera while they had their own little movie moment.

And can we talk about Salma’s dress?! The movement. The pleats. The all-white look against all that greenery and architecture. 🤌🏼 I knew the second she sent it to me that it was going to photograph beautifully, but seeing everything come together was even better.

Of course I had to throw some black + white into the mix too because apparently I can’t be given beautiful architecture, a couple in love, and good light without getting a little cinematic. 🖤

The more weddings and events I photograph, the more I realize that reception details are probably one of my favorite things to photograph. I love seeing the themes people come up with and all the work that goes into the little details that make an event feel personal.

And if you know me, you already know my weakness is pan dulce. 😂 So if I see a dessert table with conchas on it, just know I’m giving that table its own little photoshoot. And I may or may not sneak one when nobody is looking. 🤷🏻‍♂️

For this baptism/birthday celebration, there were so many little Hispanic touches I loved, from the pan dulce and desserts to the cantaritos ready for the open bar. Because you already know, it’s not a Hispanic baby party unless the adults have an open bar too. 😂🍹

But I really have to give some love to D’Lily’s Flowers | Monterey Bay Wedding Florist. The florals and decorations throughout the event were beautiful, and there was so much to photograph everywhere I looked. You can tell how much work and care went into putting everything together, and those are exactly the kinds of details I love documenting.

Throwing it back to this gorgeous setup I had the opportunity to photograph for Oscar Rocha of Oscar by Oscar last August. From the layers of draping and warm amber glassware to the white florals and candlelight, every little detail came together beautifully.

And of course, I couldn’t leave without getting Oscar in front of the camera too. 😉📸

One of my favorite things to photograph will always be the details, the textures, the lighting, the little choices that completely transform a space. Give me good design and some moody light, and you already know I’m happy. 🖤
