About a year ago, I was in Soddy-Daisy, TN for Caitlin Dunn’s graduation. I’d had to go back to college about a month beforehand because my G.I. bill was expiring. I was starting a new semester, including studying Japanese, were knew we’d be moving, and needed to get photos made and travel. My grandmother Vicki Hamby keeps a box of these classic 1 subject notebooks and all are welcome to them. I grabbed it to make my first scribbles in Japanese and any other scratch notes I needed. It made it all the way to the end and it’s beaten, soft, dirty, and has seen 2 countries and a lot of miles. To me this simple notebook has become the symbol of finishing my bachelors degree. Many of you saw me graduate 3 weeks ago. It was a bit early, but now I’ve turned in my final work and am just awaiting the final tallies. Maybe I’ll even get to keep the honors. I want to say thank you to everyone who reached out, sent a congratulations or anything. I’m not sure what’s next (besides some Japanese tests.) I have some ideas, but I mostly am enjoying the time to think them over and walking around Japan. I can’t same that I’ll resume the photography I was doing before, or if it will be the same. However, I wanted to say thank you to everyone!
