Pardon the cell phone preview shots, but just hopping on to let you know that if you're in the Watertown area you have no excuse to be bored today! And if you're really lucky you may even catch me at one of the three great events where I'll be taking photos: Artemis Yoga is celebrating 10 years with a day full of free classes and special opportunities, the German International School Boston is hosting their annual Christkindlmarkt from 3-7pm, and you can wrap up the day with Santa photos and so much more at the Merry Mingle from 4-8, with the official Watertown Tree Lighting at 7:30!

A very heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported my small business this year. I'm always a little sad as the fall wraps up after a non-stop fall of school photos and catching up with familiar faces. I'm so grateful to call this my job and I truly love getting to spend time with all of your smiling faces!

To balance out my last post — there are plenty of delightful older kids who are willing to share their genuine smiles! Senior portrait sessions are truly so much fun. I love getting a peek into this stage of life that my own family is rapidly approaching, and seeing the maturity and excitement as seniors prepare for the next step into adulthood.

As part of my never-ending attempt to find the right balance in scheduling, I front-loaded all the big schools this year, and just started preschool photos this past week. I have to say that after a month of trying to convince hundreds of teens and tweens to just not look miserable for their photos (everyone wants to be cool!), it's literally such a breath of fresh air to be outside with preschoolers who flash genuine smiles just by saying a silly word or talking about their favorite animal! It reminds me that I could never just focus on one age group — the variety really makes me appreciate each one. I'm sure by the end of October, I'll be missing all those big kids who can sit in one spot and don't need a squeaky toy to look at the camera!
