After a lot of thinking, I have made the decision to close my books for the 2026 calendar year. ❤
If it seems like things have been a little quiet over here for the past year or so, you are right. Before having our son, Jack, in 2024, my goal was to cut back on the number of weddings and sessions to free up time and enjoy life as a new parent. Over the past year and a half, I have been able to do just that. This new chapter as a parent has been so fun to dive into with my husband and watch our son grow!
It has also come with challenges as a business owner. Thoughts like, “Am I letting down clients?” or “Am I throwing away all the time and effort I put into building this business?” dance around in my head throughout the year. For those who don't know, photography is not my full-time job. I work full-time as a Marketing Coordinator in the Cedar Valley and began transitioning photography to be “part-time” in January of 2022.
Since the shift in my career in 2022 and then having Jack in 2024, I have been taking fewer sessions and weddings to see how to “balance” a full-time job, life as a parent, and photography.
I’ve learned that my current “balance” of everything hasn’t been ideal for work/family life, and I truly think that a break from my camera will allow me to return with a clearer vision for the types of sessions I want to offer.
I will definitely miss all of you next year and seeing your family at our session(s). Thank you all for the love and support!
