Welcome to the official ReedsReel Photography page! Here I will be able to post larger sets and high res photos from shows I've shot, as well as share articles I've written. I will occasionally share some non-music related content like graduation, engagement and other portraits, but the majority of this page will be geared towards my music photography and journalism.
Thanks for the support, after taking up music photography a little over 2 years ago I have met so many wonderful people and created so many amazing memories. The reactions to my work have been so overwhelmingly positive, which was so unexpected, so I am very excited to continue shooting now that concerts have returned.
For those who do not know me, my name is Rita Plante. I am 22 years old, from Prospect, CT and just graduated from UConn with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics and Communications. I was inspired to take up music photography in late summer/early fall 2018 after being front row to several GA shows and getting cool shots on my phone. I purchased my first crop-sensor Nikon camera in April 2019 and began shooting several local CT bands and studio sessions for WHUS Radio. I got my first few photo passes to larger acts like Magic City Hippies, Cold War Kids and Alexandra Savior in February 2020, but then COVID-19 hit. Now in June 2021, I'm picking up right where I left off. I have upgraded to a full-frame Nikon DSLR and professional grade lens and have begun shooting some shows for Manic Presents.
I'm very passionate about what I do and I'm very excited to continue working and improving my craft. Please like, share and rate this page so I can continue to find work.
