Meghan J. Photography - Your Memories in Focus

Hey you guys! I'm Meghan! I started Meghan J. Photography, now based in Wasilla Alaska, six years ago as Moments By Meghan Photography. As my business and craft have grown and evolved, I’ve decided it’s time for a name change too.

Photographs are something that have always been of great importance to me. I view them as a way of documenting my personal life story. My “history.” When I started having kids my passion for photography evolved into something even more important. Now I was responsible for documenting their life story, too.

At that time, and still of course, I had such a passion for capturing “real” moments but I quickly realized my simple point and shoot, set to auto, wasn’t producing the grand images I was visualizing in my mind. So I got to work studying photography. I studied {and continue to study} lighting, angles, depth of field, manual, post processing and so much more! {If you are reading this and you’re like, huh what now, I love photography too but I have no idea what some of those terms mean, then shoot me an email and we can chat!} It wasn’t long before I convinced my husband that I desperately needed a DSLR and photoshop so I could start putting these techniques together!

After years of studying and practicing, creating and helping others learn, I’m still finding that I’m learning new things every day. I started my business because I loved being able to bless others with the gift of bringing their memories into focus while earning an income so I can be home with my babies. And that passion continues on daily.
