Old school, and an old friend. I've owned this beautiful camera for more than 50 years, and I'm still using it today. Old gear is worth saving.

A simple shot taken as a test for a new (old) lens for my medium format Mamiya Universal film camera. I like it.

Here is a short video for you. Maybe I'm a little homesick for my days of growing up in the Yakima Valley, and those solo trips to the quiet mountains that I enjoyed so many times.

When it is a hot day during a Wasilla, Alaska summer, it is a wise choice to head on over to Wasilla lake to enjoy the sun, the shade, and to get wet. This is June 5th, 2026, taken with a Konica Autoreflex 3 film camera.

Another portrait of Becky and Deby. In this scene we are trying to re-create a photo we made the last time Deby visited us, several years ago. This was fun. We are actually in bright daylight here, which makes this photo even more interesting. Oh, and by the way, Deby missed the bear and it ended up chasing both of them up into a Cottonwood tree. It took quite some time to get them down a bit later.

Yesterday was a day of photography for me since Deby will be heading back to her home in Yakima today, In the morning we shot some fun portraits outside, and made a fun Youtube video at the same time. Later, in the afternoon, we brought the photo gear inside the house and did some nice portraits of these two very special ladies. Such a nice visit we had with Deby. I sure love these two.

Taken again from a pull out along the Glenn Highway in Alaska, this pictures shows the Matanuska River as it makes its way through a section of the Chugach Mountains. Scenes such as this are generally pretty hard to photograph because of the trees and brush growing around the so called scenic viewpoints. I took this with a Mamiya 645 1000 S film camera with a yellow filter on the lens and Black & white film in the magazine.

A pretty, snowy scene. This photo was taken around milepost 112 of the Glenn Highway in Alaska, sometime in the later part of April, 2026. For this one I used a Mamiya 645 1000s film camera, and a roll of 120 black & white film. The day had been pretty bland, but it then suddenly turned beautiful towards evening.

Here's a shot I took this month, May of 2026, showing Gunsight Mountain from Eureka, Alaska on the Glenn Highway. Gunsight Mountain is so named because of the notch at the very top. Looks exactly light the rear sight of a rifle. I like this photo, even though it was a tight fit with the only lens I had at the time.
