Attended The Coterie Noir bo***ir content day. This was an exceptional all-inclusive event. Olesha Haskett, owner of The Coterie Noir, provided us with a content filming guide for BTS that can not only be used for the day of but as a guide for any future shoot day. She also provided each attendee with a five-week Social Media Content planner. There were three awesome models for each attendee to work with for timed allotment of time and later as free shooting of each model.
This was provided for a limited exclusive group of six photographers. We were provided with three models in a few outfit changes. The studio was a gritty warehouse with eight various sets and original warehouse wall of windows with great natural light in its space.
The set of sofas [navy and cream] along with the windows were utilized most. I even utilized the dressing space and curtains for some images.
Olesha stepped in occasionally to offer superb professional tips on posing or composition but we were mainly left to execute our personal vision of captures. We were encouraged to assist each other, and it proved to be a very collaborative day for all the attendees.
We were even blessed with the presence of RJ Paulk capturing BTS footage. I would highly recommend attending the next event with Olesha and Coterie Noir.

Photographer Extraordinaire. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the passing of photographer extraordinaire Gordon Parks. Widely regarded as one of the most groundbreaking visual storytellers of the 20th century, Parks used his lens to illuminate the realities of poverty, race relations, urban life, and the fight for civil rights. His work revealed essential truths about American culture and continues to shape how we understand our shared history.

Tulle+Leather+Pearls and a Tiny Dog
Tulle for the drama, leather for the edge, pearls for the power.
When softness meets rebellion, the whole outfit starts telling its own story — with a little dog supervising the entire fashion moment.
Soft, edgy, and served with tiny paws and big attitude.

Looking out and Taking in
When capturing images with your camera or mobile device, focus on scenes with dramatic lighting. Seek out pronounced shadows, striking silhouettes, and narratives that unfold in plain sight.

JUST A FEW HOURS LEFT TO SHOP FOR YOUR FAV PHOTOGRAPHER!

Finding the perfect gift for a photographer can be tricky since most of them are very particular about their cameras and lenses. However, the best last-minute gifts are often the "essentials" they constantly run out of or the lifestyle items that make a long shoot more comfortable.
Here is a list of last-minute gift ideas for your photographer friends and why the New Year is the perfect time to give them.

Last-Minute Gift Ideas
1. High-Speed SD Cards or Portable SSDs
Photographers can never have enough storage. Digital files—especially RAW images and 4K video—are getting larger every year.
• The Gift: A SanDisk Extreme Pro SD card or a Samsung T7 Portable SSD.
• Why it works: These are available at almost any electronics store or for overnight shipping.
2. Professional Lens Cleaning Kit
It’s the "socks and underwear" of the photography world—everyone needs them, but no one wants to buy them for themselves.
• The Gift: A kit containing a Rocket Blower, a LensPen, and high-quality microfiber cloths.
• Why it works: It’s affordable, essential, and ensures they start the year with crystal-clear glass.
3. Subscription to Editing Software or Presets
If you’ve run out of time for a physical gift, a digital subscription is instant.
• The Gift: An Adobe Creative Cloud (Lightroom/Photoshop) gift card or a preset pack from a photographer they admire.
• Why it works: It’s delivered via email instantly and helps lower their monthly business expenses for the coming year.
4. Peak Design "Capture Clip" or Slide Lite Strap
Standard camera straps that come in the box are often uncomfortable and scream "tourist."
• The Gift: A Peak Design Slide Lite or a Cuff wrist strap.
• Why it works: These are widely available in camera shops and major retailers. They provide better ergonomics for the long shoots they likely have planned for next year.
5. "Editing Marathon" Essentials
Photographers spend as much time at a desk as they do behind a lens.
• The Gift: A high-quality insulated thermos (like a Yeti or Stanley), a blue-light-blocking screen protector, or a "caffeine-fueled" gift card to a local coffee shop.
• Why it works: It acknowledges the "invisible" work they do during the long nights of editing.
🗓️ Why Give These Before the New Year?
Giving these gifts in late December isn't just about the holidays; it's about helping them prepare for a successful 2026.
• The "Fresh Start" Mentality: A new year often means "gear maintenance" time. A new cleaning kit or a fresh set of organized memory cards helps them clear out the clutter of the previous year and start January with a professional, organized kit.
• Preparation for "Slow Season" Education: Many photographers experience a lull in January and February. Digital gifts like online courses or MasterClass subscriptions give them something productive to do during the winter months to sharpen their skills.
• Tax Season Readiness: For professional photographers, the end of the year is when they tally their expenses. A gift card for film developing or a software subscription is a "business expense" they now don't have to worry about as they plan their 2026 budget.
• Inspiration for New Year Resolutions: A beautiful photography coffee table book or a museum membership can provide the spark of inspiration they need to set new creative goals for the coming year.
