Paige & Brendan, surrounded by their closest people on a rooftop ceremony, and a whole lot of love. 🤍

Their sweet girl Penny made little cameos throughout the day, their engagement photos filled the walls of Fathom Gallery, and their vows had friends wiping away tears and reaching for the hands of the people they love.

It was one of those days that felt intimate in all the best ways. Full of warmth, laughter, happy tears, and the kind of love that extends far beyond the two people getting married.

What a joy it was to be there for it all. Congratulations, Paige & Brendan! ✨

From Hinge to Williamsburg, WI, and now DC, these two have already had quite the adventure together.

He proposed at their favorite hidden beach on the Great Lakes, six months after she casually suggested it would be a great place to get engaged. He listened. She was right!

From 30,000 miles on his car to countless adventures, Irish pubs, coffee shops, and a tiny gremlin of a cat named Charlie, Mitch has always found his way back home to her.

And on a beautiful ☀️Friday evening at Woodend Sanctuary, they celebrated making that home forever. ✨ Congratulations Laura + Mitch! ✨

A breezy summer evening in DC with Paige, Jack, and their three very important plus-ones.

We wandered around the Mall and spent a little time together with their pups. The kind of evening that felt like them, in such an important city to them.

So happy I got to spend a little time getting to know these two (and their whole crew!) before their wedding day next year. And a special shoutout to their incredible mom/dog handler, who deserves a medal for keeping three dogs happy, camera ready, and looking this good! 🖤

Maddie knew Max was planning to propose. She just didn’t know when.

So Max came up with a plan. He looped Lewis’s groomer DC Petropolis 202-489-4299 into the scheme, and she told Maddie that a friend was gifting a few photo sessions to her clients. And there was only one date and time available that just happened to work perfectly with their schedule. How lucky! 😉… And the trap was set!

We met at Meridian Hill, started taking some photos, and before Maddie knew it, Max was down on one knee asking her to be his forever person. 🤍

Congratulations, Maddie and Max! And of course, congratulations to Lewis too. He was clearly an essential part of the plan. 🐾

For the past few years, August has become our time to get away.

There’s something about spending a few days hiking, wandering, and being surrounded by trees that makes me feel grounded and ready for the busy fall wedding season ahead. This year, Jacob and I headed west to the redwoods.

I usually pack a film camera for the road, and this trip was no exception. My very first wedding post college in 2012 was photographed exclusively on film, so it will always have a special place in my creative life.
A few miles of hiking, a lot of redwoods, and a few rolls of film. Feeling refreshed and very grateful for this little August tradition. 🌲

Some places just feel like part of your story. 🤍

We started Paige and Brendan’s engagement session at the DC War Memorial with their dog, Penny, because this is where they got engaged! From there, we wandered our way over to the National Museum of Natural History, a place that holds its own special meaning for them. With Paige’s PhD in biology and their love of spending time at the museum together, it felt like the perfect place to continue telling their story.

It was the best kind of engagement session, the kind that isn’t just about finding a pretty spot, but about spending time in places that actually mean something to you.

And a special thank you to my past bride Catherine for being the best Penny wrangler, keeping her happy with lots of love and treats while we took photos! 🤍
