May I share something a little embarrassing with you? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s never super fun to admit to your mistakes, but I want to take you behind the scenes of a shoot last week and, shall we say, it wasn't my finest moment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While testing light with before a headshot session (pictured here), I... dropped my camera. It happened minutes before the first session and it happened in front of the client. By far, it was not my favorite moment of the year. Luckily, the lens was fine. The strobe transmitter and body of the camera took the majority of the damage but nothing too beyond repair. I also already came prepared with a backup camera. Alexis helped me overnight a new transmitter. I immediately sent out the camera body to Nikon for repair. (Funny enough, I could have rigged the camera body to work, and had I found one tiny metal piece, I also could have fixed the transmitter.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So all in all, everything could have been a lot worse but it wasn't. I made it work and learned a lot quickly. I learned how to light everything with two speedlights and then quickly learned how to slave all of the strobes to spare my poor speedlights from continually overheating. (Big thanks to for the quick tutorial emails for how to do this and getting me a brand new transmitter by noon the next day.) I managed to get my Z6 to connect to my laptop so the brand manager could see the images as they were being shot. Now I'm finishing reviewing the sessions and they all look great. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Which brave soul out there wants to share a similar oops moment?!
