A little for you... this was one of the 1st set of portraits that I was ever commissioned to shoot.

has been a staple on DC Radio for years. When my old radio group needed a new headshot for her, they asked me to shoot them. This shot was used throughout the trades, printed on all the marketing materials, etc for the station.

Fast forward to a few years later at my new radio group, as I am looking for clips to use in our new TV spot I find my picture among the folders of footage they were considering to use in the last set of spots they produced.

Today’s photo is a throwback to May of 2012. had just dropped and we’re schedule to do a special performance for the radio station at when our buddy & rep let us know Pat Monahan’s father had passed away the night before and he may or may not be able to perform.

But in he walked a short while later in his trucker hat and sunglasses. I will never forget the feeling of admiration and deep respect I had for him to have the moxie to carry on after the loss of a parent. I love how the pictures I was able to capture that day take you through all of the raw emotions he must have been feeling. But that’s the healing power of music.

While I was in college, I would spend breaks washing cars at the dealership in Greenbelt & we had to keep the owner’s historic cars in pristine shape in the showroom. Fast forward to Summer of 2019 where I covered ’s car show at National’s Park. One of his ‘best in show’ happened to be one of the cars I would take care of each summer.

This one was taken almost 9 years ago at a business lunch event in a DC restaurant- but it makes me think of icicles and precipitation. There is a good chance we will see a bit of both tomorrow so please stay safe if you have to go out tomorrow. 🌨❄️⛄️☃️
