A little while ago we started a shop. I got really overwhelmed with all the digital intricacies and found myself spending way too much time on a computer again so I pulled back. I’ve just come from a conference where designed a T-shirt for our group and then got inspired to design some more things around joy, truth, knowledge, power, and freedom. From the work nabe. Like many, I’ve transitioned jobs during the pandemic. Interviewing and now also working remotely I’ve not settled into an office and my co-workers in daily company are my cats and my partner. A few weeks ago I went to the office space. I put a sticky on the desk I’d claimed. My supervisor walked me through our building to our youth space on the first floor and the shared kitchen....

One of the recent assignments I gave to my students was to create two compositions of items, apply an identifiable color schema and capture them with natural and with artificial lighting. One composition is things we use less of now that we are in the distance learning season and learning from home and the other was of things you use more during this time. Here is my rumination on the things I use less, in blue- a series.

I am a high school photography teacher (and film, and design, and programming, and robotics) who has been immersed in the distance learning shift. Just last week have I have been able to eek out a little creative space for myself. We received Macaroons, delivered to our door, for teacher appreciation week.
