More than 1,000 people spent their MLK Day off cleaning up and taking care of their local parks with the Student Conservation Association. And this former volunteer was there to help capture the action at Anacostia Park in Washington, DC.

I went fire tower hopping through southern Oregon last fall with Teerritory owner Toby Bokum-Fauth, and it was a dream to photograph. Shots from the trip over at Teerritory.com, where Toby pulled together a handy guide for planning a similar adventure yourself.

The U.S. Forest Service's fire towers offer 360 views of some of the most beautiful parts of our country, and I was fortunate enough to stay at three of them this fall on road trip across southern Oregon. Sharing some images from the trip on the site this week (eat your heart out Airbnb).
