Ever since picking up a DSLR and spending a lockdown learning from the likes of .danson and some great peak district photographers, I've wanted to capture a cloud inversion over Castleton.

Well have some insomnia paid off! Lying in bed at 3.30am and deciding to get up and head out before work flipped the day from a frustrating one to one of the best!

It's been a while since I've been really keen to take pictures, certainly not been taking any I feel like sharing but this got my juices well and truly flowing

My work queue of images to edit is becoming overwhelming. I had a look through my files from the US last autumn and just found myself retouching edits. I like how these 2 improved and I'll revisit them again for final details before I print them.

More edited images will appear here again...hopefully soon.

Achieving a long exposure handheld, with no IBIS, is one of those things only other photographers really appreciate 🤣 carried the tripod about all afternoon for nothing!

This also happens to be about the best image I got on Saturday as the cloud cover was just constant and there was zero visibility on the peaks up to Kentmere Pike and Harter Fell.

A re-edit of one of my earliest sunset images. I'm going to be getting it printed but wanted to see how I'd edit it with my improved skills and change in eye.

Complimentary colours

When there's no clouds to show all the pastel colours in the golden hour you can look for blues and oranges (gold/yellow) to compliment each other. Opposites in a colour wheel always look pleasing on the eye. A few pelicans flying by helps too!

Post Golden Hour north of the bridge. It's always worth getting up for the sunrise but some days make it so easy!
