Dear Community,I want to express my gratitude for the continuous support and interaction I have received here. Taking a break was necessary for me to realign my focus on academics as I approach my final year of high school and prepare for college. During this hiatus, I have devoted considerable time to refining my photography skills, delving deeper into the historical and artistic aspects of this craft as well as being able to digest videography for what it is learning it and adding it into my portfolio.My journey into photography commenced three years ago this month, primarily centered around capturingsports moments. Over time, I have diversified my portfolio to include lifestyle, architecture, fashion, and more. These diverse experiences have been invaluable, providing me with extensive learning opportunities that have significantly contributed to my growth.As I move forward, my passion for photography continues to burgeon, and I am committed to expanding my horizons further. I am excited about numerous upcoming projects that I eagerly anticipate sharing with you. However, to achieve this goal, I am driven to learn and evolve continually.I sincerely appreciate your ongoing support and patience during my absence. Rest assured, I am preparing to return with a renewed perspective and so much more new content. Who Am I? My name is Nicholas Watson. I am a senior in McKinley Technology High School; one of the top schools in the DCPS system. Growing up, I would say that I was always in front of a camera at some point in my life. I aspired to an actor and model at a young age and been in a couple of shows and even being apart of an agency (Thanks to my amazing mother!). I started my modeling career at the age of 9 where I would meet my wonderful God Father, Harvey Star Washington who would later train me and teach me about modeling. This is where my journey beganā€¦ Seeing a camera at the end of the runway at every show made little me so excited. I was always curious on how they worked and how they [the photographer] did it. But, I never got the courage to pick one up. While being a model, I also was a student athlete, participating in sports like boxing, football, and track for many many years. Balancing these things were never easy but I love to stay active and love the excitement it brings. Unfortunately, that came to an end when I had an injury that put me out for months. It wasnā€™t until then, when I bought a computer and studied photography for months day and night. If I didnā€™t have sports, I was going to have something & photography was the one. After studying for months & learning graphic design at my school. I bought my first camera in November 2021. My mentor, who is also a photographer would take me under and teach me everything he knew. He would also bring me along to his shoots and we would later work together on some projects iā€™ve createdā€¦ One thing that keeps me going in this business is memories. I love love love memories. From a baby picture or just a picture with friends. Pictures themselves tell no only a story but speaks so many volumes. Thatā€™s what I love. ā€œRare Captures. Rare Moments.ā€
