Most seniors expect a simple, regular school photoshoot.

What they get is an EXPERIENCE.

This Kettle Run football senior showed up ready for pictures. He left with smoke, stadium lights, flags, dramatic portraits, and images that look like they belong on a magazine cover.

Senior year only happens once. Make it memorable.

Class of 2027, now booking.

One of my favorite things about senior sessions is watching the moment expectations change.

A lot of athletes show up thinking they're getting a few nice yearbook-style photos. Then we start creating images like these.
The smoke. The dramatic lighting. The sledgehammer. The flag. The stadium at sunset. The details that tell their story.

By the end of the session, they realize this isn't just about getting senior pictures checked off a list. It's about creating something that feels like them.

This Kettle Run football senior absolutely crushed his session, and these images are proof that senior portraits can be so much more than standing in a field and smiling at the camera.

Senior year goes by fast. Don't let this chapter pass without documenting it in a way that's worthy of the journey.

Confession:

The photos from this session cost me a few scrapes and some blood courtesy of slippery river rocks.

Worth it.

Because every once in a while you get a session where everything comes together—the light, the location, the dress, the confidence, and the energy.

The final gallery was incredible, but I also love these behind-the-scenes moments because they show the work that goes into creating something special.

Spring Senior Sessions are some of my favorites.

Senior year has a way of sneaking up on families.

One minute you're dropping them off for their first day of high school, and the next you're helping them plan for graduation and whatever comes next.

This spring session was the perfect reminder of why I love photographing seniors. Beautiful golden light, fields full of wildflowers, and a chance to capture this unique moment before life changes in a big way.

Graduation season is here, but there’s still time to create something meaningful that celebrates who your senior is right now.

Long before I was creating sports portraits, I was a film student. One of the most influential classes I ever took wasn't about cameras or computers. It was a practical effects class.

The idea was simple, yet brilliant:
Before you use computers to create visual effects, you should understand how people created those effects before computers existed.

That lesson stuck with me.

Years later, when I started creating sports portraits, I found myself drawn to practical effects again. Not because Photoshop couldn't create the look, but because practical effects create an experience.

Athletes remember holding a flaming football. Parents remember gathering around the back of the camera to see if we got the shot.

The photograph becomes a memory long before the final image is delivered. Over the years, the Signature Fire Effect has been my most requested photo effect, but it always comes with the same questions...

"How do do that? Is it SAFE?!""

After answering those questions so many, many, many times, I finally decided to document the complete process.

Today I'm launching my first standalone educational guide:

Cinematic Fire Portraits (Without Burning Down Your Studio)

If you're a photographer who's ever wondered how these images are created, the guide is now available.

🏐 Another season in the books.

If you're a travel volleyball parent, you know how much goes into getting to this point.

The early mornings. The long drives. The hotel weekends. The practices. The tournaments. The wins, the losses, and all the memories in between.

For many athletes, this season represents years of hard work, friendships, and growth. Before the jerseys get packed away and everyone moves on to the next chapter, it's worth taking a moment to celebrate what they've accomplished.

That's exactly why I created these Studio Sportrait Sessions.
These aren't team photos. They're custom athlete portraits designed to showcase the personality, confidence, and dedication behind the player. Whether it's dramatic lighting, special effects, medals, championship gear, or simply creating something that feels larger than life, the goal is to create images that athletes and parents will be proud to look back on for years.
If your volleyball player had an unforgettable season, let's create something worthy of it.

14. Travel Volleyball. An Incredible Future Awaits!

These athletes are just a few steps into the amazing journey of travel ball. Their Media Day shoot brought some incredible energy and excitement for what’s ahead. Can’t wait to see just how bright they can shine!

Not every senior session is about dresses, flowers, and perfect poses.

Sometimes it’s train tracks, brick alleys, favorite hoodies, dogs, football fields, and finding a few locations that just feel like them.

One of my favorite parts of senior sessions is figuring out how to make the experience fit the person in front of my camera—not forcing everyone into the same cookie-cutter idea of what “senior photos” should look like.

Some guys show up thinking they’re going to hate every second of it…

…and then end up having a genuinely great time.

Senior year moves fast. If you’ve got a Class of 2026 senior (especially one who thinks they “don’t need photos”), let’s create something that actually feels like them.

Message me and let’s plan it.
