Long post ahead...

I’ve been pretty absent on here lately, and I want to be honest about why. Life has been a big juggling act, and truthfully, I’ve been struggling a bit. Between being a stay-at-home mom to two littles, navigating my husband’s cancer diagnosis (he's doing a lot better since his surgery), everyday life, and photography in my very spare time, I’ve been overwhelmed.

I want to sincerely apologize for delayed responses, lack of communication, and not always being as transparent as I should have been during this season. I know how frustrating it can be when messages go unanswered, responses come late, or I’m unable to fit sessions into my schedule because of personal conflicts. For that, I’m truly sorry.

Over the last three years, I’ve been incredibly grateful for every single person I’ve had the opportunity to photograph. I’m not giving up photography, but I will be limiting the number of sessions I’m able to take on each month. It makes me really sad to have to do that, but this is the season of life I’m currently in, and my kids will always come first.

That being said, please still reach out if you’re wanting to book a session. I will always do my very best to accommodate you, whether it’s a scheduling issue or financial concern. I truly love giving my clients, who often become friends, beautiful memories they can hold onto forever.

Wanted to do a little check in. I truly appreciate all the kind messages concerning my husband, Alex, cancer diagnosis. It truly means the world to me that we have so much support.

Alex is doing better. We still have an uphill battle with medication, an Uptake Scan, and some radioactive iodine treatment BUT his pathology came back with good news. The surgeon was able to get all the cancer out and he removed 7 lymph nodes that were benign. We are so relieved and on patiently waiting for the next step of treatment.

I’ve been pretty silent on here for a while. Our whole lives turned upside down two weeks ago.

Last summer Alex (my husband) found a cyst like spot on his neck. After many doctor’s appointments and a biopsy we found out it was Thyroid Cancer. Not what we expected at all. It’s very rare for men to get thyroid cancer so it was huge shock. Not to mention he’s only 32. This past Monday on the 16th his thyroid was removed along with a couple lymph nodes that were enlarged. We still have a couple steps before we are out of the woods but Alex is recovering well.

Working with Jennifer and her family was such a sweet experience. Big smiles, tender moments, and sis who needed a bit of time to warm up to a new face. By slowing down and letting her set the pace, we were able to capture the most honest and beautiful moments.

Kids are meant to be kids, curious, wiggly, playful, and sometimes a little unsure. Sitting perfectly still for photos, especially with a brand-new face holding a camera, isn’t always easy (and it can feel a little scary!). And that’s completely okay. My goal is never to force a moment, but to create a space where you and your kiddos can relax, be yourselves, and feel comfortable. The magic always happens when they’re allowed to just be.
Kids don’t have to be “perfect” for photos. I understand, I’m a mom too. If you’re looking for a relaxed, understanding experience, feel free to message me 🤍
