Just got back from an amazing trip to Wanchese/Outer Banks! I squeezed in a quick editing session on a few favorite personal shots to share, but now it’s time to put my head down and get back to work.

To all my upcoming seniors, wedding clients, and families—your galleries are in the pipeline and looking incredible! 📸✨

For my fellow camera nerds out there: I took the Canon RF 200-800mm along with a 1.4x teleconverter (rented from LensRentals.com) for a test drive on this trip. Pushing that reach out on the beach and around the sound was awesome. If you've been on the fence about renting or buying this setup for extreme reach, it definitely held its weight.

Really appreciating all those that booked senior sessions with me this year, and their patience.

Not just during the shoot, as I manage flash settings and positioning, but waiting for photos to be completed.

Working a regular full time job, and managing photos- it can be stressful, and I do my best to get photos out- having awesome clients is a blessing.

On Saturday, I had the privilege of capturing photos of Linda Lowery at her Portraits in Dialogue opening at the Crary Art Gallery . Her encaustic (hot wax) portraits are absolute masterpieces in person—the depth and texture are incredible.

To top off Saturday evening, we caught Jaden Fofana playing an awesome guitar set over at twig & vine. 🎸✨

Then today, we went back to the Crary for Linda’s demonstration class to watch her work her magic with the hot wax in real-time. Seeing the process up close gave me a whole new appreciation for her technique.

A great weekend celebrating local talent and amazing art! 🖼️✨

Honored to capture history in the making today at Oakland Cemetery.

The now named - The Sally Metzgar Memorial Chapel—originally erected in 1908—has officially opened its doors after an incredible restoration effort led by Robert Metzgar, dedicated community members, and talented local craftsmen.

Beyond capturing photos of today’s opening, I was privileged to contribute to the restoration by photographing artist Kathy Johnson’s portrait for the canvas print now hanging inside the chapel.
