Got reminded of this beautifully sad song tonight.

Don't ever be scared to reach out if you need it, my ears and heart are safe places. No one is ever truly alone and you do not have to if you don't want to be. I would rather hear your troubles than hear you lost the fight to them.

This was such an apology from my past self to my current self. An apology for all the slips and falls along the way to get here. An apology for failing several times to keep the faith. An apology for not loving himself enough along the way.
But this was also an accepting gratefulness from my current self to my past self. Grateful for finally putting himself first. Grateful for staying the hand on those occasions. Grateful for perservering and pushing on despite what the world threw at him.
If it wasn't for him, I would not be here and experiencing the happiest point in my life.
Thank you for surviving. I am so sorry that it was immensely difficult along the way, but we made it and it's a whole new adventure ahead of us.
